Workshop ProposalFor Radio Islam InternationalLenasia, Johannesburg

A 90-minute working session on AI for the Radio Islam team.

Twenty people. One boardroom. No theory. We work on Radio Islam's actual content, in front of the team, and leave them with three workflows they can use the same week.

01 The Brief

A focused session, built around your team and your workflows.

Radio Islam runs over 19 hours of daily English programming, a 28-year content archive, and a multi-functional team of presenters, news readers, producers and journalists. You asked for a 90-minute workshop to bring the team up to speed on AI and where it fits in the day-to-day work of the station. Research was one of the specific areas you wanted addressed.

This proposal is for that workshop. It is built around your actual team and your actual workflows. There is no abstract framing. Every minute earns its place.

02 What the team leaves with

Five concrete outcomes from a single 90-minute session.

  1. A real Radio Islam English segment transformed into a week's worth of social content, show notes and on-air-ready material in front of the team.

  2. A complete research workflow demonstrated live: story research for a current news item, guest research and interview prep for a hypothetical Radio Islam guest, and topic background for a presenter going on air the same day.

  3. An understanding of how the 28-year Radio Islam archive can be made instantly searchable, with practical examples.

  4. A forward-looking use case: reaching South Africa's Zulu and Afrikaans-speaking Muslim communities through translated and re-voiced versions of existing English programming.

  5. A one-page take-home action sheet with three workflows the team can start applying the same week.

03 The 90 minutes

Three live demos. One conversation. Mapped to the four functions in the room.

00:00 to 00:08

Open and framing

Three concrete wins for a working radio station in 2026. No theory.

00:08 to 00:30

Demo 1: One segment, ten outputs

For presenters and producers. A real Radio Islam English segment is transformed live into a transcript, clean show notes, three social-clip-worthy moments with timestamps, an Instagram caption, and a thread for X. Six minutes of input becomes a week of content.

00:30 to 00:55

Demo 2: Research acceleration

For journalists, producers and presenters. Three research flows in one block: a current SA news story brought from raw sources to on-air-ready brief in three minutes; a guest dossier built for a hypothetical interview; and topic background pulled for a presenter preparing to go on air the same day.

00:55 to 01:15

Demo 3: Archive search and local language expansion

For everyone. Two parts. Ask the 28-year archive a question and watch the relevant segment return. Then a strategic seed: the same English segment translated and re-voiced into Zulu and Afrikaans, opening Radio Islam to communities no other station is reaching at that level.

01:15 to 01:30

Open conversation and close

Real questions from the team. Real answers. Close with what comes next for any department that wants to go deeper on a specific workflow.

Included

  • Pre-workshop preparation using Radio Islam sample content
  • 90-minute live session at the Lenasia studios
  • Travel within Johannesburg
  • One-page take-home action sheet for the team
  • 14 days of email follow-up support if any workflow needs clarification once the team starts using it
Excluded. Any custom development or done-for-you implementation. If a specific department wants to go deeper on a workflow after the session, that becomes a separate conversation about a follow-up training engagement.
06 Date Options

Post-Hajj window. Late mornings work best.

In shaa Allah a blessed Hajj for all the pilgrims. The dates below begin from the week of 15 June 2026, giving the team a full week back from Hajj before the workshop runs.

Option 01

Tue 16 June 2026

Option 02

Wed 17 June 2026

Option 03

Tue 23 June 2026

Option 04

Wed 24 June 2026

Option 05

Tue 30 June 2026

Suggested time: 10:00 to 11:30, sitting cleanly between the morning and afternoon programming shifts. Open to alternatives if a different slot works better for the team.

07 Recording

Permission for screen-and-voice capture only.

With Radio Islam's permission, I will record the screen and my own voice during the session for Asmal Digital's internal reference and the possibility of short clips. No team members' faces or voices will be recorded. Any clip considered for public sharing will be sent to Radio Islam for approval before it goes anywhere.

08 What Comes Next

If a specific workflow earns its keep, we go deeper.

If a workflow demonstrated in the session generates strong interest from a particular department, the natural next step is a focused follow-up training for the people who will use it daily. This is offered as a future option, not a condition of the proposal.

09 To Proceed

Reply with a preferred date and we book it in.

I will confirm the date, send a short engagement letter with payment details, and request the Radio Islam sample segments for pre-workshop preparation. Jazak'Allah khair.
